Wanaka - chez les Penniket

Chez Logan

Logan est un ancient élève qui m’a accompagnée en France en 2002 avec un groupe des Iles Chathams. Nous connaissons bien sa famille qui vit dans une maison atypique et écologique avec un petit vignoble. Et du bon vin (pinot noir)! Les briques pour la construction ont été fabriquées sur place, avec de la terre à laquelle on a ajouté du ciment.

Logan ( à la fac à Dunedin) a sauvé d’une mort certaine un petit caneton qu’il a laissé avec la famille à Wanaka. Depuis Duckie a grandi mais reste à la maison et vole très peu. On dirait plutôt un chat qu’un canard. Sophie s’en occupe sur les photos.

Nous nous sommes baladés au bord du lac avec la famille. Vous verrez presque toute la famille sur la photo prise à notre destination.

Logan is an ex-pupil of mine with whom I stay in contact. He came to France with me in 2002 when I accompanied the Chathams Group. We know the family well now, with their earth-brick house which practically heats itself. Their wine, Minarets Peak, off a small vineyard, is lovely indeed!

The duck, called Duckie, was rescued by Logan as a duckling, in the Dunedin Botanical Gardens and taken home to the family, who have raised it. It can apparently fly but we never saw the event. It may well think that it is a cat. Sophie is tending to its nutritional needs in the photos. Rolled oats.

The last photos are taken on a lakeside walk, the Millennium Track. All except Andrew, Logan’s father, are in the photo.
